Tug-of-War

 Dear Friends,

The United States swept all three Olympic medals in tug-of-war… In 1904 when the Olympics was held in St. Louis, MO! Tug-of-war is one of the oldest Olympic sports there is.  But in the modern Olympics it was discontinued in 1920. Official Olympic rules stated that an eight-man team had to pull their opponents six feet to win. If either side failed to do so, judges gave the struggle a further five minutes and then declared the team who had made the most progress the victors.

Christians compete in a tug-of-war every day.

  • The flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do not do what you want.” – – – Galatians 5:17

If you know Jesus, He is pulling on your side. He offers us supernatural power from Him to fight the good fight.  Keep pulling! “I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.” – – – Philippians 4:13
